Q: How can I find an easier way to get my child to sleep?
A: Nap time and bed time can be a challenge when dealing with small children. But I will tell you, there is a way. First, you have to understand your children body. Children have a lot more energy than adults, so it takes a lot more energy to drain. Here are a few tips to drain their energy to make them sleepy and ready to rest.
Before you prepare them for nap or bedtime, take them for a walk or let them play outside. Exercise is a great way to use up some energy and get some fresh air. By the time they're done they will be ready to rest.
Read them a book or the Bible. For some odd reason listening to a book can make anyone tired. It will calm them down and make them ready to relax.
Put your children on a sleeping schedule. Timing their body for bed is a great way to get them to sleep without problems. If they're not on a schedule, it will be hard at first but be persistent and you will get them to sleep in no time.
Play relaxation music as they lie down. If you still have some trouble to get them to relax and lay down, play music that's calm and soothing such as yoga music, and lie down with them. It usually calms them and causes them to sleep. Just make sure you don't fall asleep as well!
