Q: What can I do to improve my child's self esteem?
A: Due to the world's view on self image, children are now becoming more aware of their body image. More children these days dream and request to alter their body through cosmetic surgery more than ever. They envy celebrities, feeling their bodies are more perfect. Children are willing to take drastic measures to change the way they look, even if it can harm their health. Due to these facts, there are more children dealing with self esteem issues today. To improve their esteem it needs to start at home and more importantly, it needs to start with you as the parent. Here are a few tips to help with your child's self esteem.
As the parent you should have high self esteem. Lead by example is very true when you have children. If your children see you altering your body through cosmetic procedures eventually so will they. Your children look up to you and they will only do what they see and hear.
Always praise your children on their beauty and intellegence. Everyone is made through the eyes of God, and he made no mistake. God equipped us all with a certain gift and we should all acknowledge it.
Give your child some encouraging words when they are feeling doubts or loneliness. I have written a book published at amazon.com. My book "Be Happy, God Made Us Different", gives advice on how encouraging words can make a difference. Encouraging your child with a inspirational quote lifts up their spirit and gives them hope.
Self esteem problems is a big problem in America today, but if you start with your family and live a healthier lifestyle, you and your family can make a difference. For more information on my book "Be Happy, God Made Us Different", you can visit here http://www.amazon.com/-/e/B00B2GP7Y0
